Oklahoma: invasive & noxious plant laws
New laws coming: several states phase in plant bans 2027–2030. See dates and sources →
Oklahoma's noxious weed law, 2 O.S. § 3-220, designates only three thistles as noxious weeds and requires landowners to control them every year so they do not go to seed. Seed rules (OAC 35:30-25-4) bar selling agricultural seed containing any seed of these thistles. Oklahoma has no state list of ornamental plants banned from sale. Federal noxious weeds still apply.
