What the county asks for
From the RainScapes conservation landscape requirements: a planting plan with plant locations and quantities, a graphic scale and north arrow; a plant list spreadsheet with varieties, quantities and sizes; an HOA approval letter if applicable; at least 75% native plants (the rest non-invasive); quart-or-larger containers; and at least 350 sq ft for commercial/institutional sites (no garden under 75 sq ft). A RainScapes planner approves the plan before you install; the county says the wait is about 6–8 weeks.
Exactly what you get for $49

- A one-page Virginia VCAP cost-share summary.
Not included: a plant list or planting plan drawn for your specific site, a scaled plan, a site visit, or filing the application for you. If you only need the information, the free sample has the same content.
Virginia HOAs: VCAP
The Virginia Conservation Assistance Program offers cost-share in participating Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Conservation landscaping and rain gardens are paid at 80% of eligible cost up to $7,000 per application at the 10-year lifespan (35% for some 5-year practices), with a $50,000 total per applicant (PY2026 rate sheet). Rates change by program year; confirm with your district.
The rebate amount is always set by the program, not by PlantLegit. We prepare the paperwork; we do not guarantee approval.
