Last updated October 14, 2026. The Chrome extension "Chat Folders for ChatGPT, Claude & Grok" ("the extension") is published by Virginia State Home Inspections LLC (VSHI LLC), Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Everything the extension stores stays in your own browser. It has no accounts, no analytics and no ads, and it never sends your chats anywhere. The only thing it ever sends is a Pro license code, if you enter one. We cannot see your folders, chat titles or messages.
All of this is kept in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else (apart from the license code check described below). Uninstalling the extension deletes it. Backup and export files are saved only where you choose to save them.
The extension makes exactly one kind of network request, and only if you choose to unlock Pro. When you paste a Chat Folders Pro license code and click Unlock, Chrome asks your permission for the extension to contact plantlegit.com (our license server; that site is also run by VSHI LLC). If you allow it, the extension sends a single request, https://plantlegit.com/api/cf/verify?code=<your code>, which contains only your license code. It repeats that check about once a week while the permission is granted, so refunded codes stop working. No chat titles, messages, folders, browsing data or identifiers are ever included. If the server can't be reached, Pro keeps working from the locally saved result. Our server keeps standard request logs from our host (Cloudflare), such as IP address and time; we don't use them to track you. Without Pro, or if you decline the permission, the extension makes no network requests at all.
Pro is bought through a Stripe Payment Link on Stripe's own site. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and payment status from Stripe, and store your license code with that email so we can help if you lose it or ask for a refund. None of this is linked to your chats, which we never see.
We do not sell or transfer your data, show ads, track you, load remote code, or use your data for creditworthiness or lending. Our use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
