Terms of Use — PlantLegit app

Effective October 14, 2026. The PlantLegit app is published by Virginia State Home Inspections LLC (“VSHI”, “we”), Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Using the app

By using PlantLegit you agree to these terms. The app is free. It has no accounts, purchases or subscriptions.

Information only — not legal advice

PlantLegit summarizes official state and federal noxious-weed and invasive-plant lists and USDA hardiness-zone data, with a link to each source. It is general information, not legal, professional, horticultural or home-inspection advice. Laws, local ordinances and HOA rules change and may be stricter. Check the linked official source, your locality or your local Cooperative Extension office before you buy, plant, move or remove a plant. “Not listed” means only that a plant is not named on that list as of the date shown.

Accuracy

We check data against primary sources and show the check date, but information may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Please report errors to the address below.

Third-party content

Plant photos come from Wikimedia Commons and remain under the licenses credited in the app. Government data remains subject to its original terms.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law. To the extent allowed by law, VSHI is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the app, and our total liability is limited to US$100.

App stores

These terms are between you and VSHI, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support for the app. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
